I used Terry Kimbrough's "Sweet Dreams" pattern from The Best of Terry Kimbrough Baby Afghans. I love this pattern!! I wrestled with it for what seemed like hours last night, trying to post this pic over at Crochetville. I got it up here, but I was so exhausted that I didnt even write up the details once I had the picture displayed. So, here is the crucial details in case you were wondering:

This doily is from A Year of Doilies, April, and is originally done in Lilac to play up the theme of "Wisteria" which is formed by the popcorns. Actually, this doily is worked up completely from tc and popcorns, and I LOVED making it!! :) I used Aunt Lydias size 10, with a 6 hook and blocked it comes out to be 18". I chose to use white, because it is a gift for my mother (who prefers white) and while it no longer has the same "Wisteria" feel, I think it is still lovely.

I am currently working on the Pineapple Sundae doily that so many other people have recently finished. I have had to take a little break from it though, to work on some items for the various Exchanges I participate in over on CrochetList. Hopefully I can get back to the doily by this weekend, it also is full of tc- which I just love!

Not crochet but...

I really dont have anything exciting to share as far as crochet is concerned. I have been half-heartedly working on a "pinwheel doily" that, for one reason or another, just doesnt seem to want to come together. I have had a nasty head cold all week, and the motivation just hasnt been there- also, for some strange reason (perhaps all the cold meds) I cant seem to keep my counting right. I am about to frog the whole thing especially since I have some new patterns to occupy my time! I managed to snag 2 50% off coupons at Michaels yesterday- and picked up another Year of Doilies (I think it is #4)....and...Ultimate Doilies by ASN!

Anyway, I am pleased to say that after following Julie's progress with Weight Watchers, I also took the plunge and joined! I am very proud that after 1 week (which was a holiday week, no less- with parties, etc) I have officially lost 5 lbs! I have talked to 2 other people who have just finished the same pattern and they said their experience was the same...so consider this fair warning! Everyone seemed to have quite a bit of trouble with the doily cupping and ruffling (which is usally a sign of uneven tension) but I must say that I believe it is just the pattern...so if you consider working this one up- make sure you have plenty of pins on hand (and lots of patience!)

My other projects the past few weeks have centered around scarves using novelty yarns as well as some really cool yarn I frogged from sweaters. It's out in the open now. And theres no taking it back!

Actually, this isnt my first foray over to the "other side", I actually learned to knit years ago- as a child, BEFORE I even learned crochet! After several lopsided scarves and sad attempts at afghan squares, I put my knitting needles aside for crochet. I have continued to develop my crochet skills over the years, learning to follow patterns, etc. But back in the corner of my mind (and sewing basket) there always were those needles- taunting me...daring to give them another try. I have always been the type of person that refuses to admit that I "cant do" something...that something has gotten the best of me... so finally, I took out those needles and showed them "whose boss"! Within a weekend I had several cast on techniques down, the knit and purl stitch, my cast off and I even tried my hand with the circulars!!! I even maintained a consistant tension after the first day, so I was extrememly satisfied with my progress!

Unfortunately my need for perfection has gotten the better of me- as I have found frogging to be much trickier in knit than in crochet! Needless to say I dont have a FO to share because of my failed attempts to correct mistakes... If anyone has any tutorials or ideas about how to frog without twisting and making an even bigger mess- I would appreciate it! LOL! Actually, I know it is merely a matter of "reading" the stitches- trying to figure out the front and back loops etc when placing them back on the needle- but that seems pretty tricky especially when using a complicated stitch...hmmm Id love to hear any tips!

Shhh...the kids are sleeping...

FINALLY!!! Now keep in mind, I have migraines typically 4 days out of 7. I have an entire arsenol of meds to deal with them, from preventatives to actual pain meds...PLUS...I have been getting BOTOX injections to help prevent the pain. Needless to say, head pain is a very familiar territory for me, so you can rest assured that when I say "extreme migraine"....I mean E X T R E M E!!! Usually, they are excellent sleepers, so I really don't have much room to complain, other than the fact that they haven't been themselves this week! They both have refused to fall alseep before midnight, and then one (if not both) have awaken each night around 1 or 2 am. Now my dd (age 3) usually takes very little effort to get back to sleep, but ds (2 on Sun.)...he's a different story! When he wakes up, he thinks it's time to play..and has been waiting until around 5 or 6 to go back to sleep!!! Then, within an hour or so, dd is "up and at 'em" ready to start the day! So, needless to say, I have been a zombie all week!

I have been meaning to post about Snowflakes in July over on Crochetville, but due to my overly exausted condition, I haven't made as much progress as I had hoped! It seems like every time I'd sit down and crochet, my eyes would cross- then glaze over- and before you know it...I'd be asleep! So far, I only have 11 flakes to show for the weeks effort! Ofcourse, those still need blocking- so I still have quite a bit more work to do :( Hopefully, if the kids go to bed soon...I can get a few more done!

If you have a favorite snowflake pattern book that you could recommend, I'd love to have the name! I have printed off most all of the free patterns on the web, and have several LA books (Lacy Snowflakes, White Christmas) but I am not extremely impressed with either of these books- most of the designs are pretty simple and only involve a couple of rounds. Tomorrow I will be scouring local craft stores armed with the 50% of coupon from AC Moore- so I'd love to have the names of a few books to look for, especially if they have some patterns that are a bit more intricate!

63 Squares

I am pleased to report that I have only 2 more Ecru colored squares left on this afghan- and I will officially be 1/3 of the way through making my squares. The critical question is coming though...do I continue on with Ecru, making a solid color afghan OR stick with the 3 color combo that is used in the pattern? Any thought would be appreciated!

It also occured to me that there may be some readers out there who are not familiar with the whole 63 Squares CAT...so here is some more info

This book has been a wonderful reference beyond the actual afghan pattern. It was fairly inexpensive (I bought mine at Wal-mart) and I have used the stitches on a number of projects. One of the nicest features of the book is that each of the stitches has a starting chain count formula so that you can calculate how many chains to make if your are designing something yourself! Definately worth picking this one up!

Happy Aniversary to me :)

Just a quick post to mention a wonderful event on Monday- the 18th...it will be my and dh's 7th wedding anniversary! Here is a pic of a 12" square I recently made for an Exchange- the colors are so icky in the pic...in person the are beautiful! The recipient requested a square made in pastels, so I choose an ecru- actually, it was called Fisherman and a Baby Blue. The 2 colors together were very pretty (unlike the puky gray and yellowish color that is showing up on my monitor right now LOL!) I just lost my post!!!!

So, here we go again!

Are you familiar with "graph 'gans"? You know, when you use the afghan stitch to make picture afghans. I have been intrigued with this method for sometime, but had never worked up the nerve to give it a try. Well, I recently discovered the MoEZ Crochet Group over on Yahoo. The members over there have helped me locate a number of tutorials as well as graphs, and I think that I have finally settled on a project! Wish me luck!

Also, I am so happy to share that I received 2 wonderful packages yesterday from the Christmas in July Swap over on Crochetville!! The first elf sent a beautiful card and a package of Crochet Grips- Now, these grips are not your run-of-the-mill blue cushions...these are very different... they are so cool! I had never seen anything like them before, and I try to post a pic tomorrow!
The second elf sent a vintage Crochet World magazine, AND a Crochet World OMNIBOOK!!! I have been searching everywhere around here for back issues of any crochet mags- with no luck! I was soo excited! Thank you both!!

I continue to make slow and steady progress with the 63 Squares, I picked up another One Pound Skein of Caron yesterday, so I should be set for the next week! Is it just me, or do other people find most of the Caron Acrylics to be of a slightly higher quality than RH and Lion Brand recently??? I know, I know, shame on me for dissin' the 2 old faithfuls....they've been good to me over the years...and I still pour more money into those 2 companies than I would care to admit, but it just seems like the manufacturers at those 2 companies have gotten sloppy. I've been noticing more and more tangles, irregularities with the plys and twists, knots, breaks, etc! Now, don't get me wrong, I've had some nasty skeins of Caron too- but it just seems like it happens more with RH and LB.
BTW- I have a standard policy that if I run into any of the above mentioned "nasties", I gather the offending pieces of yarn together, the skein labels, and a quick note and send it all to the company. I feel like it is the only way they will get the picture that even if it is acrylic, we STILL care about quality and DESERVE a decent product!!!

And finally, I am going to start posting pics of my progress on the 63 squares 'gan, but I will only post a couple of pics at a time (even though I have many more finished) I know how frustrating it can be to view tons of pics using dial-up!

Square 3 (unblocked)

Square 4 (unblocked)

Square 5 (unblocked)

Photobucket and 63 squares

This post was supposed to be me showing my progress on the 63 squares CAL- however, Photobucket is taking it's own sweet time uploading my pictures, so I guess I will have to write about something else.

I have been dilligently laboring away at my 63 squares- working on all of the Ecru squares first. I am about half way through those squares- and I hope to make another one tonight while dh and I watch a video. I am considering making the entire afghan in Ecru- I know, I know...you're all shaking your head- thinking I've surely lost my mind....afterall, Ecru afghans and 2 kids under the age of 3 don't go together that well! But still, I haven't seen any of the other afghans in the CAL done in a solid color- and I though it might be worth a try. Any opinions?

I also had an opportunity to check out a number of new crochet books today at the library- and I have to say I was somewhat disappointed! I think I'll look through them once more before I make up my mind- but so far I haven't been that impressed.....

"Boo!" on Annie's Attic!

Yesterday, I received the latest issue of the catalog from Annie's Attic. I was a little disturbed as I looked through the pages. I noticed that a number of the "exclusive" patterns they were offering were actually vintage patterns that are currently offered free of charge on the net!

Now I realise that many of the pattern publishers recycle vintage patterns, and actually I am quite thankful that they do. They are able to put these wonderful, old patterns into the hands of a whole new generation of crafters. However, it seems like they could atleast bring back patterns that weren't readily available for FREE...ON...the NET!!!! I mean, really!! There has been alot of discussion on various boards lately about people selling free patterns (especially on Ebay)- and whether you agree or disagree with this practice, is not really the concern of this rant. Instead, my frustration is that A's.A. a company with numerous resources, millions of patterns at their disposal, creative minds churning out ideas left and right, and THIS is all they could come up with! Good grief!

Here is a perfect example....this pattern- is currently available on 2 different sites- here:Tulip Varieties Doily and here:Tulip Doily!

Now...check out page 19 from the current Annie's Attic catalog Doilies from the Garden

I bet most any self respecting crocheter with a bit of PAS, could do better! I had never received an international package before, so that was a thrill in itself! I opened the box, and could barely believe my eyes!!! Take a look at what I found:

Yellow cotton tots yarn (yummy), Patons Canadia yarn (gorgeous), 101 Double Ended Hook Stitches, Crochet on the Double Collection, chocolate truffles (mmmmm!), and the best of all: Mary Poppins on VHS! I can't begin to express how delighted I was! I have tried and tried to find Mary Poppins for the kids- they love that movie (and so do I). I had just about given up hope of finding it around here! I also have often thought about learning how to use double ended hooks- and actually considered asking for the 101 stitches book for my birthday next month! Can you tell how excited I am? Again, if you are not familiar with RAOK, you need to check out Crochetville! It is so much fun!

I also have a few pictures for ya, the first is a couple of snowflakes, in honor of Snowflake Monday! Also, here is an example of my current favorite dishcloth- a raised ridge diagonal design- it is also the favorite of the resident dishwasher (my dh!)

The next picture shows a few bookmarks I have finished- I still have a few more that need to be blocked...I'm not sure which one's I will include for the Crochetville Bookmark Swap though...

No picture...Again!

I don't know why, but for some strange reason, I just can't seem to remember to take a picture of my finished projects before I give them away! I promise to try harder, but once again today, I forgot to take a pic :(

Well, I'm sure this won't be as exciting sans pic, but I will do the best I can...

Today my family got together to celebrate Father's Day (since dh and I were so sick last week.) Anyway, I included a bookmark in my dad's card. I used this lighthouse pattern. I loved the photo on the web site, but when I made it up, I felt it was a little difficult to see the image of the lighthouse clearly. Even after blocking and starching, I was unhappy with the results. I decided to try it again, this time using a smaller hook, tighter tension, and a different thread. I also altered the actual stitches of the lighthouse. (Here is where the photo would have helped, LOL!) I decided to "fill in" the actual design of the lighthouse, changing the original meshes to blocks...and changing the original blocks to...you guessed it...meshes! Anyway, the changes seemed to help, the image became sharper, and I was happy with the final product- although my dh said "oh, it's so pretty- it's a rocket!" I just rolled my eyes!

I have also finished a couple other bookmarks: Jacob's Ladder, Victorian Memories, along with several others from various books and mags. Fortunately, those are still here, and once I get them all blocked...I promise to take a picture LOL!

I picked up a great crochet book at the local Goodwill yesterday...it is called Carry Along Crochet, and it was published in the 80's. It has some wonderful patterns in it- including a toddler's sweater and hat set (up to size 4!!!); Bert and Ernie hand puppets; a Little Red Riding Hood purse; and a Goldilocks and Mama Bear flip doll- just to name a few! I can't decide what to start with, but I was extremely happy about this find!

Oh, tomorrow is Monday...so we all know what that means - RIGHT???
Snowflakes, of course!!!

Nasty cold, part 2

Well, I am still struggling with this sinus/ear infection and it has been difficult to get anything done, especially crochet. Just to put this into perspective, I started a dishcloth when I first started getting sick. This was a very simple design, one that I have made so many times, I could do it in my sleep. Well- I just finished it YESTERDAY! LOL! It took the better part of a week to finish a dishcloth that I can usually whip up in about an hour! Oh well!

Today, I got a bit more done, I finished 1 thread bookmark- no pic. yet, and almost finished another. I feel like I'm getting back into the swing of things!

Yesterday was a wonderful mail day- I wanted to share what I received...first, I was RAOK'd by someone at Crochetville.
If you are unfamiliar with RAOK, you should check outthis thread. I was so excited! This was the first RAOK I had received, and it couldn't have come at a better time!

Also, yesterday's mail brought a puffy from my Big Square partner, Grace. She included this gorgeous teal square, and my mother threatened to steal it! She also sent some wonderful patterns, a pack of seeds which my dd immediately claimed, and a reciepe for fruit salad! Here is the square she sent... Isn't it just beautiful!

too sick to crochet?!

Ugh! What a nasty cold! Everyone in my house has been sick for the better part of a week! Let me tell you, this is a bad one too! I haven't felt this bad in a very long time! I finally mustered up the strength to "drag" myself into the Dr.'s office this morning, and I was told that I had developed a "nasty ear infection". It's always nice when the Dr. uses the word 'nasty' to describe your particular ailment, huh? I have been sooo fortunate that my parents have been able to help out with the kids! Since dh and I are both in pitiful shape, my parents have graciously taken our oldest (3 yr old dd) with them for most of the day, for the past few days! She was the first one to come down with this cold and thus, she is the closest to being over it! She has had a blast with Grandma and Papa all to her self! And it has sure helped dh and me to only have one little one to care for(besides ourself).

So here I am, with all of this free time, only one kid in the house...a dh to sit and entertain said kid...and ya know what??? I was too sick to crochet! How cruel is that? I wanted to do it...I can't tell you how many times I tried to do it...but it was useless. My hands were so shaky I could barely make a stitch. Oh, it was so frustrating! Stupid Cold!

So anyway, I have had one particular bright spot this weekend...I actually won my first CAT PAC during the CAT over on CrochetList! I was so excited- I have been participating in the CATs for the past 3 months, but this was the first time I won. On top of that, I finally felt like I was recognizing people and able to participate more to the conversation. It was really alot of fun. You should definately check it out!

And finally, if you are even remotely interested in crochet lace work or vintage patterns...you must check out this link. It appears to be a book that someone has scanned and uploaded on the web, and there are very few pictures, BUT, with a little patience, you will be amazed at the number of patterns available- definately worth checking into!

So thats about it, I suppose I will go stare at my wip's as they lay there mocking me, tempting me to try one more time....or perhaps I'll take another dose of the lovely cough syrup with codene...hmmmmm...what to do....

Jonathon's Blanket

I finally decided to finish Jonathon's blanket (incase you've missed previous posts...this is a replacement blanket for a 4 year old, whose favorite blankie has been used and washed until it is in "shreds")! It was extremely easy to make, but it was one of those projects that for whatever reason, just didn't appeal to me! It was a very simple pattern, almost mindless, so this weekend when dh and I sat down to watch a movie, I got to work....and yipee...it's finished!
Here's a pic...

and a close up of the stitch....

The pattern is just a series of 2dc, ch1, dc repeated throughout, with a dc on each end. Since this was an afghan for a boy, I used a edging of hdc to keep it from being "frilly". I think the final product is practically identical to the original blanket. Considering the fact that the original piece I was given was so tattered and matted together that I could barely make out a stitch, I am pretty pleased with the outcome! I think that he will be very excited to finally have a blankie in usable condition LOL!

Thank you, Neva!

I just opened a puffy from CL Big Square Exchange! It's just so exciting to make something for someone that you know will truly appreciate your hard work! Don't get me wrong, I love to make things for my family and friends, but unless they crochet or knit, it's hard for them to appreciate the amount of time and work that goes into each piece. But in a swap, you know that someone out there DOES understand, and what's even better, they are making something equally wonderful for you. Just think of the possibilities...maybe you will be partnered with someone who is just starting with crochet, or perhaps it will be someone much more experienced than you- you may learn a new stitch or pick up a new pattern along the way!

Can you tell how addicting these swaps are? If you haven't joined one already, let me make some suggestions Crochetville has a different swap (or swaps) each month, although you must have reached "Villager" status before you are eligible to participate (see the web site for more details). CrochetList has a variety of swaps ranging from small projects such as bookmarks to larger more time consuming projects such as doilies and purses. Still, these are a good way to learn more about crochet and meet lots of new people as well!

Trust me...once you start....you'll be hooked!

Two afghans and a potholder

Finally, some pictures!
Here is the 'long awaited' Itsy Bitsy Spider Afghan for my dh's friend at work. I used Caron Simply Soft in Victorian Rose with a "j" hook instead of the baby weight yarn that the pattern called for. I have struggled with ongoing chronic migraines almost my entire life. Only within the past 3 years have I found any treatment that even came close to relieving the pain. Well, after tons of pain meds, preventative meds, etc- my Neurologist suggested that I begin Botox injections to curb the pain- and possibly lessen (or prevent) future attacks. I began the injections about 6 months ago and this week I had my 3rd set. So far, not much to celebrate- but it usually takes several days to "kick" in. T he first set worked, 2nd set were pretty much useless, and these...who knows?
I have to admit I have felt pretty bad here lately. I try to use crocheting as "therapy" if you will, but somedays, even that is a struggle. I have made some progress on my Itsy Bitsy Spider Afghan, worked a bit on my bookmarks for the Crochetville Bookmark Swap, and added some new links to my blog. I have done a ton of surfing here lately and found some really neat patterns as I continue to reorginize up my stash :) Oh, in case anyone NEEDS any more patterns- let me Enable your PAS...
Annie's Attic is having a HUGE crochet clearance sale! And, the Rose color is so cheerful to me :)

After all of my whining about the replacement baby afghan I've been working on, I am pleased to say that it is balled up in the corner of the room- "time out" if you will- and it will just have to stay there, until I feel better about it! I think I am addicted to dishcloths! Oh well, the only thing I could do is start a new project!! Yippee!

So, I began working on an Exchange Square for the Big Square Exchange- I am using a med burgandy color (label was missing) and a new pattern- but shhhhh...I can't post it yet :) Also I have quite a bit of shopping luck lately! Today I picked up some Aunt Lydias thread in Forest Green $1.00, Lion Brand Kitchen Cotton- also Forest Green $2.00 and my absolute favorite acrylic- Sayelle- in pink- .69! Oh...on Wednesday, I picked up a whole bag of Lustersheen (about 6 rolls), knitting needles, and some mercerized cotton yarn (not thread) at a local thrift store for 1.99!!!! I was very excited, to say the least!

And finally- I have decided that I must have LA 99 Floral Motifs to Crochet! I keep seeing posts about it, but I haven't seen it up close. There weren't any listed on Ebay either. But, I will keep my eyes open!

Jonathon's Blankie

My latest project is rather boring. I am attempting to remake my cousin's ds (age 4) favorite blankie. It was made by his great-great Aunt, and he takes it with him everywhere! Needless to say, after 4 solid years of love...it is falling into pieces! My cousin sent me a tiny "scrap" (about 10 stitches long and not even 2 rows high) of it, and I attempted to recreate the pattern- although it was so worn and stretched, it was really difficult to make out the stitches! Are you getting a picture of the shape this thing was in? Let me say it again...I couldn't make out the stitches!!!!!LOL!
Well, I have decided on a (2dc, ch1, dc) pattern, and it is coming along fine. The biggest issue with it is that he wants to be able to "stick his fingers through the holes", it must be yellow, and soft...ha!ha! I think it will meet the criteria, but oh...how boringggggggggggggg! I just keep plugging away at it- dc;dc,ch1,dc;dc,dc,ch1, dc;dc,dc,ch1,dc;arrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh! Hopefully I will finish it soon! I keep telling myself how happy this will make him, but man, it is boring!

Oh- the biggest news though, I've figured out how to fix the problem with viewing my entries on Firefox, hopefully everyone can read it a bit easier :)

Crayon Afghan Finished!

Yippee! I am always so hesitant about using a pattern that I just "find" rather than one that someone recommends. You never know what kind of errors and inaccuracies web posted patterns (and even some published patterns) have until you (or someone else) sits down and actually works with it. I admit that I seldom follow a pattern completely as written, especially since I like to "tweak"them to be a bit more "me", but I hate to get started on a really great pattern and suddenly find that it is just a mess.
Whew! With that off my chest, I have some wonderful news: I have a wonderful website that was recommended from some members of the CrochetList Swap (although I have no actual experience with these patterns, many of the Swap Members use them)...so here is a great link if you need "inspiration" for that upcoming Square Swap :)

Chris Simon's free crochet patterns

But Wait! I am trying to post some pictures- so far without luck! I have not taken pictures of my finished projects in the past, and unfortunately, many of the things I made have been given away. I did find a few items around the house that I could post, mostly as practice posts. The first item I am going to post is the JIC Exchange square I finished today for the CL 12" Exchange. It is from an online pattern (I will post link soon) although I had quite a bit of trouble with the pattern. Eventually after numerous changes, I just gave up on the pattern and began making it up myself. I am using the left over yarn from the lapghan I just finished- hence the color choice. Now for the pic (I hope)

Sale, sale, sale....

I just checked the ads, and A C Moore has RH for a $1.54 and Sugar & Cream for .97....and what do you know...I just signed up for another Exchange....the 12" squares...so.....I NEED more yarn. She sent a beautiful yellow and white verigated dishcloth, several pattern flyers, a packet of Thyme seeds and a neat bio! I loved it! No pictures yet- but posting pictures is my next goal (as soon as my husband has time to help)!

As far as crocheting is concerned, I began a hunter green, med hunter green (sage, I think) and flecked aran granny square lapghan- from a free RH pattern flyer. I have been agonizing over a wedding gift for a family friend, and after several false starts with other patterns, I think this one is a winner. I was going for something that wasn't too time consuming, too expensive, and definately not frilly. Since the couple also has small children, the item needed to be user friendly (meaning easily washable and able to withstand various stains, etc). I think I've found the perfect solution.

Yesterday, I also began a crayon shaped afghan for my kids, possibly for my youngest's birthday. I got the pattern out of my current favorite - Crochet with Heart. I seem to remember some one on Crochetville having this worked up in their gallery. It is really cute, and I can't wait to get working on it again. (After I finish the lapghan).

Finally, I am toying with the idea of joining another Exchange, although I don't want to over extend myself! I really like the idea of the 12" square exchange..especially since I could eventually have a unique afghan (just for me)...just a thought though!

So sleepy

This will be a quick post because I was up all night last night with sick children... Today I finished my dishcloth scrubbie from a new LA leaflet I picked up this weekend. It turned out really cute, but the next time I make one, I think I will modify the pattern to be smaller. It really took alot longer to make than I had expected because each petal is made seperate from the others, which means more ends to weave!!! I was also huge and took quite a bit of cotton- I'm still trying to figure what adjustments to make to the pattern...hmmm...

I heard from my exchange partner today, she seemed happy with the puffy I sent! She also told me that she had just sent out my package and I should get it in the next few days!! I can't wait!! I also got a pleasant surprize in the mail, appearantly my parents have given me a subscription to Hooked on Crochet! I hadn't expected that! Now I will have 3 subscriptions! I am sooo psyched! Yippeee!!!

Finally, every year my parents bug me about what I want for my Birthday... every year, I struggle to come up with something...well, this year I think I will finally have an answer!!! We will be getting a craft store FINALLY, and I think I will ask for Gift Cards!!! Thank you so much, I just love it. I just wonder how long it is going to take me to figure out how to make it appear! I am still working on adding links and other people's buttons. I hope I am linking them correctly!

Today I finished up a dishcloth with the cotton I bought on clearance at Wal-mart. I used a crossed dc in verigated blues with a cream border. I really liked the way it turned out.

I also purchased some more cotton at Michaels tonight as well as a LA leaflet on slippers. On the way out I picked up 3 skeins of Bernat so soft in a beautiful dark green - for $1.00 each. I'm not sure what I'll do with them, but they were too good of a deal to pass up!

I plan to work on the dishcloth scrubbie tonight, it is from one of the new LA leaflets Wal-mart is carrying now.
