Crayon Afghan

I have been working on the crayon afghan for my ds recently so here are some pictures. This only shows the first two strips, actually, I plan to have the third finished tonight...

I just discovered the neatest thing...I can change the size of the photo right from the "Compose" screen. I wonder if I will ever get the hang of this...who would believe I actually took programming in college :(

I have also begun the dreaded task of organizing my pattern stash. It is a sloooow and tedious process, but I am trying to arrange my files from the 'net into more managable documents. UGGHHHH!

I have also worked a bit more on adding buttons, etc to my blog, although I still have no idea how to retrieve the ring code for the Crochet Blog Ring....but I will keep searching!

Never change your template!!!!!!!

I learned the hard way about the hazards of playing with the "change template" setting! UGH! I have almost restoredall of my buttons, but I can't get a hold of the code for the Crochet Blog Ring code. Even though I hadn't been approved yet, I still need to post the button while I am waiting! UGH!!! Help!!

On the bright side however, I have added some more pics!

Here goes:

And a pink puff ripple for my daughter(this was made a while ago, but it is very special to me and I wanted to share it), I also freehanded a hat for her, for her coming home outfit from the hospital...but who knows where that is lol!

Pictures anyone???

This will be attempt #2... I am trying to post some pictures- so far without luck! I have not taken pictures of my finished projects in the past, and unfortunately, many of the things I made have been given away. I did find a few items around the house that I could post, mostly as practice posts. The first item I am going to post is the JIC Exchange square I finished today for the CL 12" Exchange. It is from an online pattern (I will post link soon) although I had quite a bit of trouble with the pattern. Eventually after numerous changes, I just gave up on the pattern and began making it up myself. I am using the left over yarn from the lapghan I just finished- hence the color choice. Now for the pic (I hope)

Sale, sale, sale....

I just checked the ads, and A C Moore has RH for a $1.54 and Sugar & Cream for .97....and what do you know...I just signed up for another Exchange....the 12" squares...so.....I NEED more yarn. Afterall, I need RH for my squares and S&C for my dishcloths...RIGHT???? Now, I just have to figure out how to lure somebody to go with me-hmmmm....

In other news, I have about 6 more rounds to go on my lapghan!!! It is really pretty (no pics yet) and I just downloaded several more cute afghan patterns off of www.angelcrafts.net they have alot of nice patterns!

I hope to get my pictures up in the next few days, if I ever get a chance!

Puffy-mainia

No, I am not gushing about that certain rapper...instead, I am excited about the puffy I received from my Exchange partner at Crochetlist. She sent a beautiful yellow and white verigated dishcloth, several pattern flyers, a packet of Thyme seeds and a neat bio! I loved it! No pictures yet- but posting pictures is my next goal (as soon as my husband has time to help)!

As far as crocheting is concerned, I began a hunter green, med hunter green (sage, I think) and flecked aran granny square lapghan- from a free RH pattern flyer. I have been agonizing over a wedding gift for a family friend, and after several false starts with other patterns, I think this one is a winner. I was going for something that wasn't too time consuming, too expensive, and definately not frilly. Since the couple also has small children, the item needed to be user friendly (meaning easily washable and able to withstand various stains, etc). I think I've found the perfect solution.

Yesterday, I also began a crayon shaped afghan for my kids, possibly for my youngest's birthday. I got the pattern out of my current favorite - Crochet with Heart. I seem to remember some one on Crochetville having this worked up in their gallery. It is really cute, and I can't wait to get working on it again. (After I finish the lapghan).

Finally, I am toying with the idea of joining another Exchange, although I don't want to over extend myself! I really like the idea of the 12" square exchange..especially since I could eventually have a unique afghan (just for me)...just a thought though!

So sleepy

This will be a quick post because I was up all night last night with sick children... Today I finished my dishcloth scrubbie from a new LA leaflet I picked up this weekend. It turned out really cute, but the next time I make one, I think I will modify the pattern to be smaller. It really took alot longer to make than I had expected because each petal is made seperate from the others, which means more ends to weave!!! I was also huge and took quite a bit of cotton- I'm still trying to figure what adjustments to make to the pattern...hmmm...

I heard from my exchange partner today, she seemed happy with the puffy I sent! She also told me that she had just sent out my package and I should get it in the next few days!! I can't wait!! I also got a pleasant surprize in the mail, appearantly my parents have given me a subscription to Hooked on Crochet! I hadn't expected that! My husband just purchased a subscription to Crochet! for me and I am planning to but Crochet World for myself. Now I will have 3 subscriptions! I am sooo psyched! Yippeee!!!

Finally, every year my parents bug me about what I want for my Birthday... every year, I struggle to come up with something...well, this year I think I will finally have an answer!!! We will be getting a craft store FINALLY, and I think I will ask for Gift Cards!!! Oh, I can't wait!

I have a button!

I have a beautiful button thanks to MomaChet from Crochetville!!! Thank you so much, I just love it. I just wonder how long it is going to take me to figure out how to make it appear! I am still working on adding links and other people's buttons. I hope I am linking them correctly!

Today I finished up a dishcloth with the cotton I bought on clearance at Wal-mart. I used a crossed dc in verigated blues with a cream border. I really liked the way it turned out.

I also purchased some more cotton at Michaels tonight as well as a LA leaflet on slippers. On the way out I picked up 3 skeins of Bernat so soft in a beautiful dark green - for $1.00 each. I'm not sure what I'll do with them, but they were too good of a deal to pass up!

I plan to work on the dishcloth scrubbie tonight, it is from one of the new LA leaflets Wal-mart is carrying now. Hopefully, I will get pictures posted sometime in the near future!

Day 2

So I figured out how to publish and view, the next step is to tackle html.....

I have finished a number of projects lately although I still have a number of wip's waiting for me. Today I finished the contents of my first Exchange on CrochetList...2 dishcloths- one is an original design and the other is the Flower Dishcloth from Crochet with Heart. I am also sending a miniature Red Hat made using size 10 thread, and a Red Hat motif from a pattern off the internet.

I recently finished the square pineapple doily from Crochet with Heart, although I still need to block it, I have been putting it off for about a week now.

I suppose my next projects will be to finish the 2 baby afghans and come up with a wedding gift due in May.
