Snow Flurry Doily & baby 'ghan

This doily is from A Year of Doilies, Book 1. It is called Snow Flurry and I used a size 7 hook and Baroque Thread. It was super fast to make up, and I really enjoyed making it! I am very pleased with the results :)

Here is the afghan I just finished for my soon to arrive neice! I used Terry Kimbrough's "Sweet Dreams" pattern from The Best of Terry Kimbrough Baby Afghans. I love this pattern!! I used a sport weight, white pompadour yarn and added a white ribbon around the beading.

Doilies, doilies, doilies

Cluster stitch doily from Old Time Crochet...pattern also found hereI used DMC Baroque and a size 6 hook. Once blocked, it measured almost 28 inches.Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This is Pineapple Sundae from Ultimate Doilies. I used a size 7 hook and size 10 Aunt Lydias.

These are both from Patricia Kristoffersons 99 Little Doilies. I used Ecru size 10 thread, although I am not sure of the brand, as the wrapper disappeared long ago. I used a size 7 hook and each doily/coaster is around 6 inches.

This snowflake doily is from one of the Year of Doilies, I believe the most recent edition. It was done in Cebelia with a size 7 hook. I forgot to measure it, but I would guess it is approximately 18 inches from tip to tip.

Wisteria Doily

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Anyone else having problems with Photobucket lately? I wrestled with it for what seemed like hours last night, trying to post this pic over at Crochetville. I got it up here, but I was so exhausted that I didnt even write up the details once I had the picture displayed. So, here is the crucial details in case you were wondering:

This doily is from A Year of Doilies, April, and is originally done in Lilac to play up the theme of "Wisteria" which is formed by the popcorns. Actually, this doily is worked up completely from tc and popcorns, and I LOVED making it!! :) I used Aunt Lydias size 10, with a 6 hook and blocked it comes out to be 18". I chose to use white, because it is a gift for my mother (who prefers white) and while it no longer has the same "Wisteria" feel, I think it is still lovely.

I am currently working on the Pineapple Sundae doily that so many other people have recently finished. I have had to take a little break from it though, to work on some items for the various Exchanges I participate in over on CrochetList. Hopefully I can get back to the doily by this weekend, it also is full of tc- which I just love!

Not crochet but...

I really dont have anything exciting to share as far as crochet is concerned. I have been half-heartedly working on a "pinwheel doily" that, for one reason or another, just doesnt seem to want to come together. I have had a nasty head cold all week, and the motivation just hasnt been there- also, for some strange reason (perhaps all the cold meds) I cant seem to keep my counting right. I am about to frog the whole thing especially since I have some new patterns to occupy my time! I managed to snag 2 50% off coupons at Michaels yesterday- and picked up another Year of Doilies (I think it is #4)....and...Ultimate Doilies by ASN!

Anyway, I am pleased to say that after following Julie's progress with Weight Watchers, I also took the plunge and joined! I am very proud that after 1 week (which was a holiday week, no less- with parties, etc) I have officially lost 5 lbs! Hooray for me!!!

2 more doilies

Well, I have been on a doily kick the last few weeks, I just cant get enough of them for some reason! These two are from the Absolutely Gorgeous Doilies by Patricia Kristofferson. I LOVE this book and I highly recommend it! I dont have the names right off hand but they were both worked with a 7 hook and Knit Crosheen, I really like the way that they turned out although, I think the first one is my favorite:

Autumn Doily

this is a doily from a LA leaflet called Hooked on the Holidays. I used a 7 hook and Baroque in Ecru. Definately a quick one to finish would be perfect for a beginner! Its around 12" in diameter.

This doily is from Annies Favorite Crochet (cant remember the issue right off hand) but it worked up extremely fast. It was also alot of fun since there was some variation in each round.
